The Hora Chart, or the D-2 divisional chart, primarily focuses on the vgoina of a person as well as the assets and the financial well-being of an individual. The word hora comes from a Sanskrit word ahoratra which means a day and a night.

Hora Chart

Each zodiac sign in the Hora chart is subdivided into two 15 degree portions, one governed by the Sun and the other by the Moon.
The Hora chart, also referred to as the D-2 divisional chart, comes into being by bisecting each zodiac sign into two 15 degree subdivisions. For the odd signs, the first 15 degrees is Sun’s hora (Leo), and the subsequent 15 degrees is the Moon’s hora (Cancer). For the even signs, the first 15 degrees is the Moon’s hora (Cancer), and the next 15 degrees is the Sun’s hora (Leo).

When interpreting Hora chart, one locates planets in these Sun and Moon horas and analyzes what wealth could flow easily and what could be difficult to ascertain and where the wealth might come from. Analyzing wealth and its sources, one considers planets like Jupiter and Venus, and the second and eleventh houses.

Apart from the divisional chart, hora pertains to a deeper chart wherein one attempts to calculate planetary hours each day in order to find the exact timings that would be best for a given action.
